This presentation will address strategies for working with parents when their children are in play therapy through discussion, demonstrations and role plays. Participants will practice generating goals for play therapy that are measurable and linked to the process in the play therapy room. Participants will be encouraged to share their own strategies for working with parents.

Activity Play Therapy: Supporting Tweens and Teens in Child Centered Activity Therapy

Session Description:
Child-Centered Activity Play Therapy (CCAPT) is adapted for tweens/teens who challenge traditional play and talk therapy. Using hands-on activities, CCAPT provides tweens/teens a safe supportive environment for self-expression so tweens/teens can work through their challenges and process their thoughts/feelings. This interactive workshop provides theoretical and practical skills for implementing CCAPT.
