This training provides play therapists with an introductory understanding of autism, including diagnostic criteria, prevalence, history, common myths, and neurodiversity-affirming perspectives. Participants will explore how autism is defined, recognized, and understood within both clinical and lived.

Many play therapists feel lost when it comes to working with autistic children due to their unique needs and considerations. Using a neurodiversity-affirming approach, this presentation will explore practical strategies for using play therapy skills with autistic children.
Both presentations are approved for the following and Tabonuco Counseling maintains responsibility for all aspects of the program:
- The Association for Play Therapy (APT) as an APT Approved Provider (23-694)*
- National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 8037**
- Awaiting approval for EMDRIA credit
*Play therapy credit is only awarded to mental health professionals.
**Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified.
